Arctic Awakening
Adventure & Wellness Week
February 16th to 22nd, 2026
Northern Scandinavia
A once-in-a-lifetime winter journey into stillness, adventure, and deep human connection. Led by Michelle Riordan & Adventure.ie Guides
Awaken your wild, calm, capable self in the heart of the Arctic. This retreat is a light adventure designed for normal people, no extreme fitness required. Over six unforgettable days, you’ll explore the snow-covered landscapes above the Arctic Circle, enjoy daily wellness practices, and soak in the magic of winter in Northern Scandinavia. This is the perfect way to begin the year feeling grounded, strong, inspired, and deeply connected.
You’ll stay in a warm, welcoming cabin above the Arctic Circle. Each day blends gentle adventure, nourishing meals, and cosy evenings by the fire. With guided snowshoeing, optional cross-country skiing, breathwork, yoga, and the chance, if you choose, to try a safe, supported ice dip, this retreat offers the perfect mix of rest, excitement, and connection. With a little luck, the Northern Lights will appear to complete the magic.
Retreat Highlights

Daily Wellness Practices
Start and end your day with grounding breathwork, energising and restorative yoga, and mindful movement with Michelle. Everything is optional and accessible, this week is about restoration, not performance.

Arctic Adventures
Explore pristine snowscapes at a relaxed, beginner-friendly pace with professional guides. You’ll learn basic cross-country skiing and enjoy safe, supported soft adventures designed for all levels.

Northern Lights Viewing
This region is one of the world’s best aurora viewing locations. With luck and clear skies, you’ll witness the breathtaking Northern Lights dancing overhead. 2026 sits at the height of the solar maximum, the period when auroras are at their strongest and most frequent.

Cozy Accommodations
Your home for the week is a warm, inviting Arctic cabin with shared rooms (2–3 people), hearty Scandinavian meals, and its own incredible sauna. And truly, there’s nothing like stepping from a hot sauna into fresh snow. It’s pure magic.
